The Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council is a non-profit located in Baton Rouge and designed to handle e-waste by recycling and reuse. Old computers are refurbished and distributed to schools, non-profits, low income families, and to hurricane impacted organizations and individuals. In 2005 the CACRC recycled close to 1000 tons of electronics.
Giving Back to the Community--Our Programs that You Support!
CLK--Computers for LA Kids is a program that distributes computers to classrooms across the state to teach computer skills to middle and high school students. We train the CLK teachers, provide an online text book and their own website.
CLF--Computers for LA Families is a program that allows low income families with children to purchase computers configured with software at a very low cost.
Non-profits--the CACRC provides computers to non-profits at a reduced cost and assists them in meeting their project goals.
Hurricane Relief--since the hurricanes the CACRC has sponsored a relief effort offering thousands of free refurbished computers to schools, organizations, libraries, churches, and individuals impacted by these storms. We helped many get their lives back on track.
