CACRC In The News

The CACRC has been a best kept secret and we are trying hard to change that by getting our message out.

In honor of America Recycles Day, the CACRC hosted its First Annual Garage Sale in November 2007. The event gave the public a chance to buy used compter equipment and accessories at low prices, while giving us the chance to spread the word on all that we do. The Advocate ran an article on the occasion, "Surplus electronic gear up for grabs at garage sale" on November 4, 2007.

CACRC's Executive Director Nancy Jo Craig was featured in The Baton Rouge Area Foundation's Currents Magazine in January 2008 in the story "A Fine Balance: Nancy Jo Recycles Computers, Gussies Up Dogs for Parades."

Our organization was also featured in the Baton Rouge Parents Magazine's April 2008 issue.

The CACRC made its national debut on the Sundance Channel's original series "Big Ideas for a Small Planet" in the episode "Recycle". The Sundance Channel crew spent two days with us, filming everything from equipment donations and refurbishing to our CLK program and First Annual Garage Sale. Executive Director Nancy Jo Craig was interviewed on WRKF’s Jim Engster Morning Show on May 12. You can listen here.

CACRC was also featured on LPB’s Louisiana: The State We’re In on May 16. See it here.
